Admiral Business of the Year 2015
Winner: Pendine Park Care Organisation, Sponsored by Admiral
Pendine Park Care Organisation & Sian Phillips
Winner of the Arts, Business & Health category, Pendine Park’s extrordinary commitment to embedding creativity within its operation left the judges in no doubt that the organisation should be named Business of the Year. Partnerships with the Halle, Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod and North Wales International Music Festival are clearly focussed on benefitting a wide range of people. Music activities delivered by the Halle within the care homes enhance the lives and well-being of residents while staff are trained to facilitate arts sessions as a therapeutic activity. This 6-year partnership developed in 2014 to include workshops involving Pendine’s residents and pupils from local schools at Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod’s Children’s Day. Its sponsorship of the North Wales International Music Festival expands Pendine’s belief that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the arts. The business doubled its sponsorship in 2014 so that almost 2,000 people in homes for the elderly, hospices, schools in deprived communities and other hard to reach sectors of society could experience high quality live music. Pendine Park’s absolute conviction of the power of the arts to heal is inspirational and was praised by the judges as a model of excellence.
