Director of St Asaph based accountancy firm Salisburys, Jeremy joined the Board of MOSTYN in 2011, after the Llandudno gallery had undergone extensive refurbishment. He immediately used his professional skills to create a financial road map and provide practical guidance to help MOSTYN become a fully resilient organisation. Jeremy chairs the finance sub-committee and assisted in the recruitment and training of a new Finance Officer. Last year, he increased his commitment by becoming Chair of the gallery’s Board and has dedicated around 200 hours of his time to the organisation in the past 12 months alone. His tireless work, coupled with his sense of humour, makes him popular with staff and board members and able to defuse sensitive situations. The judges were unanimous that Jeremy’s commitment and consistent support made him an outstanding winner.
Judith Winnan, Freelance Executive Producer
As former Head of Factual & Music at BBC Cymru Wales, Judith was perfectly placed to mentor Theatr na nÓg’s Artistic Director Geinor Styles in negotiating with commercial producers. The company was expanding its work to produce a new musical. Judith gave Geinor confidence to negotiate with integrity and secure investment to successfully stage a UK tour with plans for a West End run now underway. Judith deepened her own knowledge and feels privileged to work alongside such a “remarkable individual”.
Elwyn Davies, PixelHaze
Moving from local authority control in 2015, Powys Dance needed to establish a Board of trustees. The founder of a local web design company, Elwyn, proved to be the perfect match to re-position the arts organisation’s brand. His business expertise, as well as his understanding of marketing and software, have been crucial to the new charity’s success. Elwyn is excited about the potential of the company and combines enthusiasm with practical help and a bold and forward thinking approach.
