Trustees Week - Board Talk
Trustees are vital to the health and sustainability of charities and their work is celebrated throughout the UK in an annual Trustees Week. Their important role comes with the responsibility of helping to ensure that organisations thrive.
A&B Cymru offers a range of opportunities that assist arts organisations and their boards to fulfil their potential through strong and effective governance.
Marking Trustees Week 2013, A&B Cymru will be delivering courses aimed at board members and those who report to boards.
If you are a Trustee of an arts charity, A&B Cymru’s On Board course is designed for you and takes place in Cardiff & Old Colwyn on Tuesday 5 November.
If you are an Arts Manager, A&B Cymru’s Board Matters course is what you need. It’s on in Cardiff on Thursday 7 November.

This half-day course is aimed at individuals who sit on the boards of arts organisations. It provides crucial guidance to ensure responsible governance and the roles & responsibilities of trustees.

Board Matters – Thursday 7 November
This course is a practical day-long session which provides senior arts managers with an opportunity to explore ways of improving the performance and contribution of their Boards. The agenda covers:
• The purpose of the board
• Roles and responsibilities of board membership – ensuring understanding
• The core mission – board members as successful advocates
• Increasing board effectiveness
