New CultureStep Priority

In response to a request from the Deputy Minister for Culture, A&B Cymru has added a 5th priority to its CultureStep programme – Arts & the Pioneer Areas. This is to support the Welsh Government’s pilot programme Tackling Poverty through Culture. From September 2015, business / arts partnerships which aim to improve the lives of people living in one of the 5 identified Pioneer Areas will be eligible for CultureStep investment.

CultureStep is designed to encourage new sponsorship and develop established business engagement with the arts. By investing cash into partnerships between the two sectors, the scheme enhances projects and increases their long term effectiveness. The established CultureStep priorities will remain and so all projects must address at least one of the following:

  • Arts & Kids
  • Arts & Older People
  • Arts & Health
  • Arts & the Environment
  • Arts & the Pioneer Areas

Details of the Pioneer Areas pilot programme can be found here and full CultureStep guidelines can be found here.

The next submission deadline is Thursday 10 September 2015.
